Local family owned Reef Magic Cruises operate day cruises direct from Cairns to the outer Great Barrier Reef.
Guests travel on the regions most spacious high speed catamaran, Reef Magic III, arriving at the all-weather Marine World activity platform in under 90 minutes. We provide a relaxing 5 hours to enjoy the largest range of in-water and dry activities available at the reef. An encounter with “Wally” our Giant Maori Wrasse is a highlight for all who visit our site.
Our private reef location is on the premium outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef and has been endorsed with Advanced Eco Accreditation from Eco Tourism Australia.
Reef Magic Cruises is the regions only pontoon experience not actively seeking high volume business from China (<5% of passenger volume) ensuring a friendly, interactive western atmosphere onboard. Our cruise is tailored specifically to what western market clients want - more time at the reef, less visitors and more to do.
Passenger numbers are strictly controlled to much less than capacity ensuring friendly, attentive service and a feeling of space. This unique feature ensures over 100 empty seats even on a “full” day. When combined with multilingual crew and a crew to passenger ratio of 1:10, guests receive attentive small boat service with welcome big boat comfort.
Check-in is centrally located in the Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal, easy walking distance from major inner city hotels or a short coach transfer from Cairns northern beaches. Our vessel departs at 9am, returning at 5pm.
In-water activities include snorkelling, Biologist guided snorkel tours plus world class Diving. Certified Divers utilise a dedicated dive tender for up to 3 unique dives in a day, Introductory Diving requires no prior experience & Helmet Diving provides an underwater dive-style experience without even getting your head wet. New in 2016 and exclusive to Marine World on the Outer Reef is the exhilarating Seabob Jet Snorkelling Experience!
Dry activities include reef viewing from both our Semi-Submersible & Glass Bottom Boat, an Underwater Observatory, fish feeding and identification session with our Marine Biologist, spectacular reef-scenic helicopter flights and our own on-board massage therapist. Marine World facilities also include a spacious sun-deck with lounges, changing rooms, personal lockers, FREE Wi-Fi access and fresh water showers.
Morning/afternoon tea plus a delicious hot/cold buffet lunch are included.
